About

It checks your interior PDF and your cover PDF against the 58 reasons KDP's own help pages give for refusing or not approving a paperback file.

What it does

  • Each reason comes back PASS, FAIL or NOT CHECKED, with the KDP page it comes from.
  • Page size, margins and gutter, fonts, picture resolution, cover size and spine, the barcode area, and the hidden things KDP refuses: crop marks, bookmarks, comments, template text.
  • Where a reason can't be judged from a PDF, it tells you what to look at by hand.

Known limitations

  • It only reads your PDFs. It never uploads them and never changes them.
  • A PASS means nothing KDP names was found; KDP still makes the final call.
