Installing a skill, what the setup check means, fixing a failed install, updates and checksums.

Install a skill

  1. Unzip the download. Each skill is one folder.
  2. Windows: right-click the folder, choose Open in Terminal, and run:
    .\install.ps1
  3. Mac or Linux: open Terminal in the folder and run:
    sh install.sh
  4. The install ends with a setup check. When it says PASS, copy the folder into your Claude Code skills folder (.claude/skills/, under the skill's own name).

What the setup check means

PASS means the skill is ready on this computer. FAIL says what is missing. The check confirms your Python version, that every library is installed at the exact version the skill was tested with and actually loads, and that every command starts.

If the install fails

  • Python 3.10 or newer was not found (Mac or Linux): install it from python.org/downloads, then run sh install.sh again. On Windows the install fetches Python for you.
  • Could not download Python: check the internet connection and run the install again.
  • The Python download does not match the fingerprint python.org publishes: the file was deleted for your safety. Try again later.
  • A library is not installed, or is a different version: run the install again.
  • A library is installed but does not load on Windows: Microsoft's C++ runtime is probably missing. Run the install again; it fetches the runtime.
  • The C++ runtime download is not signed by Microsoft: the file was deleted for your safety. Try again later.
  • A command does not start: run the install again. If the check still says FAIL, reply to the email your download came in, with the exact message.

Use a skill

Ask Claude in plain words. Each skill's page shows a first thing to ask, for example "Check my KDP files: interior is book.pdf, cover is cover.pdf, white paper."

Updates

Updates are free. When a skill gets a new version, the new download arrives by email. The version is in the file name and on the skill's page.

Check your download

Every skill page shows a SHA-256 fingerprint. Run this next to your download and compare:

Windows (PowerShell):

Get-FileHash .\kdp-copy-panel-1.0.0.zip -Algorithm SHA256

Mac:

shasum -a 256 kdp-copy-panel-1.0.0.zip

If the two match, your file is exactly the one we tested.

Refunds

Prices are in US dollars, tax included. No refunds, except where the law or the payment provider requires it.
